When I saw the trailer for Hot Rod, I had no interest in it whatsoever. I kind of liked Andy Samberg from his “Lazy Sunday” digital short on SNL, but seeing him in a movie didn’t seem appealing. Especially one that seemed to rely only on physical comedy.
After finishing the last few episodes of Breaking Bad today, I noticed a new feature had been added to Netflix that I had been waiting for a long time. Now when an episode has finished playing on Netflix, it will automatically start playing the next episode. This feature is a must-have for those of us who like to fall asleep to the sound of their favorite TV show. It seemed like Netflix was never going to implement such a feature, since it would consume way more bandwidth in the event that users leave shows autorun for long periods of time.
The auto-play feature doesn’t appear to be available yet on devices like the PS3 or the Roku, but PC users can enjoy it, and I hope it gets added to every device soon.
Back in 2000 and 2001, everybody was talking about the movie “Traffic” The award winning thriller about America’s drug war won countless awards including Oscars for Best Actor (Benicio Del Toro), Best Director (Steven Soderbergh), Best Film Editing and Best Writing. It was also nominated for Best Picture, but lost out to “Gladiator”.
“Traffic” is one of those movies that have sat in my Netflix DVD queue for years, never quite making it to the top of the list. Fortunately, I can now remove it from my DVD queue because it’s coming to Netflix Instant August 27, 2012. It will probably sit in my instant queue for a while until I feel like an evening of depression. But it’s one of those movies a person must see before they die.
While performing a search on Netflix for the term “30 for 30”, I came across a couple of strange instant videos. They are “Example 30 Minute 23.976” and “Example 30 Min 23.976 Remote“. I got curious and checked them out. I immediately embarked on a spiritual journey that can only be matched by LSD.
The video features a fountain, a toy train and a guy who is really excited about making sounds with his mouth. Be sure to check these videos out the next time you’re under the influence. Do it soon though, since I’m sure Netflix will remove these videos soon.
