Fire TV: Remote Mouse Doesn’t Work

Users of the Amazon Fire TV remote mouse sometimes doesn’t work properly. The report may not type properly or scroll as expected. To solve this issue, give these steps a try.

Fix 1 – Disable USB Debugging

  1. From “Settings“, scroll down and select “System“.
  2. Select “Developer Options“.
  3. Toggle “USB debugging” to “Off“.

Fix 2 – Use Mouse Toggle

  1. Open “Settings” > “Device” > “Developer options“.
  2. Set “Apps from Unknown Sources” to “On“.
  3. Open the Silk web browser app from your Fire TV and go to this link to download the Mouse Toggle for Fire TV app.
  4. Once installed, open the app and turn the “Enable the mouse service” and “Auto start the mouse service on device start-up” to the “Off” position.
  5. Select “ADB Settings“.
  6. Wait about 5 seconds, then toggle those two settings back “On“.

Hopefully one of these solutions work for you. Let me know in the comments!
