Out of the box, the Insignia and Toshiba Fire TV will display the Home screen when you power it on. You might use a cable box, DVR, or other video streaming device with your Fire TV and want to set the default input to a different device.
Unfortunately, there is no setting that allows you to set the Fire TV to use a specific input when the TV gets powered on. However, you can set the TV to power on to the last input that was used when it was powered off. Just use these steps:
- From the Home screen, choose “Settings“.
- Choose “Display & Sounds“.
- Select “Set Power“.
- Change the setting to “Last input“.
Now the TV will default to the last input used.
I want to be clear that this is a setting for the full Insignia and Toshiba Fire TV edition sets.

Hi, When I go to the Set Power screen, I do not have the Last Input option. It has Home or Control TV using other remote. Any suggestions ?
You click on “home”, then it gives you the option of”home” or “last input” on mine.

Just bought a fire tv 4 series 50″. I connected it to a blue tooth speaker but now I cannot control TV volume with TV remote even after I disconnect the blue tooth speaker. Any suggestions? Thanks
Did you try unpairing then re-pairing the remote?
