YouTube: How to Repeat Video

So, your 7-year-old found that Taylor Swift song on YouTube and wants to play it on repeat it for infinity? You might be better off telling her “There’s no way to do that!”. But there actually is a little hack you can use to repeat the same video over and over again.

To repeat a YouTube video, follow these steps:

  1. Sign-in to your YouTube account.
  2. Add the video to a new playlist. I could not find a way to do this on a Fire TV or Roku. You can add a video to an existing playlist but cannot create a new one on those devices. So, I used the YouTube app on my Android phone. From there, you can select the 3 dots ⁝ > Save to playlist > + New playlist or use YouTube in a desktop web browser to select the 3 dots ⋯ > Save > Create new playlist. Give the playlist a name, then select Create.
  3. Now you have a playlist that should only have one video in it. You can choose that playlist, then select the icon to repeat it.

YouTube desktop browser users can simply select the Repeat icon next to the video.

YouTube mobile app users can swipe up the list and select the Repeat button.

Fire TV users can press down two times on the directional pad, then select the Repeat button.
