Kids can find some trash content in the YouTube Kids app. If your kids use the app long enough, you will definitely find times when you need to block certain channels.
I struggled to locate a way to block the channels my kid was watching. After finding where the setting was, I decided it would make a nice post.
You can block entire channels in YouTube Kids from the YouTube Kids app, the YouTube Kids desktop website, the mail YouTube app, or the main YouTube website.

YouTube Kids Mobile App or Website
Login as a parent or kid, then perform any of the following steps:
- Open any video provided by the channel you wish to block. While viewing the video, select ⁝ > Block or Block video > Block this channel or Block entire channel.
- Use the search function to search for the channel name. In the search results, look for the result that is for the entire channel page. You can select the ⁝ icon, then choose Block this channel right in the search results.
- You can also do the same from the main channel page.
Desktop YouTube Steps
- Use the search box to search for the channel name, then select the channel. Be sure not to select an individual video.
- On the desktop version of the site, select About.
- Select the flag icon, then choose Block this channel for kids.
- Select Continue on the dialog that appears.
- Select the kid’s profile you wish to block the channel for.
Mobile, Android, iPhone, and iPad YouTube Steps
- Use the search box to search for the channel name, then select the channel. Be sure not to select an individual video.
- While on the channel’s main page, select the ⁝ located at the upper right part of the screen, then choose Block channel for kids.
- Select the flag icon, then choose Block this channel for kids.
- Select Continue on the dialog that appears.
- Select the kid’s profile you wish to block the channel for.
