Insignia Fire TV: How to Get Full Screen

You may experience a problem where the Insignia Fire TV is not showing a picture in full screen mode. When this happens, there may be borders on a portion of the screen.

Sometimes the TV has trouble figuring out how to display the picture properly in certain apps. What you can do to fix this problem is to change the Auto Aspect setting to Off.

You can change this setting by using the following steps:

  1. Press and hold the “Home” button on the remote until a menu appears.
  2. Choose “Display – Picture Size“. If this setting is grayed out, set “Auto Aspect” to “Off“.
  3. Try changing the aspect ratio to different settings until you get to one that displays a full screen properly.

If these steps don’t work for you, the source of the video may not be playing in full screen. If you’re using a cable box, or other type of device to send video to the Fire TV, you may need to change the display settings on that particular device.

      • Mine has no display options. The options are-
        Switch profile
        Channel guide
        Inputs
        Display mirroring
        Apps
        Sleep timer
        Picture
        Sound
        Info
Under display there are no picture size options, only colors.
I did find ‘Aspect ratio under Display in settings on the Home Screen under Composite. The other choices were all inputs.
        Crazy!
