Some models of the Roku have feature called ‘Fast TV Start’ that allows users to listen to music, podcasts, and more while the screen is off. You can enable Fast TV Start on your Roku with these steps.
- Starting on the Home screen of the Roku, arrow left to display the menu on the left pane.
- Select “Settings“.
- Choose “System“.
- Select “Power“.
- Select “Fast TV Start“.
- Check the “Enable ‘Fast TV Start’” option.
Now you can use voice commands with the remote to listen to audio through your Roku without the display on.
If you want to turn the display off when audio is already playing, press * on the remote, then choose “Turn off display“.
Fast TV Start is supported on the following models:
- TCL Roku TV with wireless speakers
- Roku Ultra model 4801
- Roku Ultra LT model 4801
- Roku Streambar and Streambar Pro.
