Roku users may have a problem where the “Search” option is missing from the Home screen. You can often fix this problem with these steps.
Most of the time, this problem is cleared up with a simple restart.
- Go to “Settings” > “System” > “Power” > “Restart“.
Once the Roku completes the restart, check to see if the search option has returned.
Check to see if there is an update to the Roku software.
- Go to “Settings” > “System” > “System Update“, then restart the system once it has completed the update process.
If you’re using a VPN service, try to disable it or connect it to a different server in a different location.
Press the following buttons on the remote while in range of the Roku to clear the cache and restart.
- Home 5 times
- Up 1 time
- Rewind 2 times
- Fast Forward 2 times
If done correctly, the screen will go black for a few minutes, then your Roku will restart. Be patient as it may take several minutes for the restart to complete.
Create a New Roku Account
You may be using a Roku account that was configured in a region where your hardware is not supported.
Create a new Roku account in a different region, then factory reset your Roku by going to Settings > System > Advanced System Settings > Factory Reset. From there you can setup the Roku with the new account.

I did the steps and it hadnt appear mine is a westinghouse 42inch roku TV.
Roku TV – “streaming channels” option is missing from Home Menu. Logged in to my Roku account on Roku.com. Tried in vain to get to some kind of tech help person. The direct contact process resulted only in the endless wheel circling – e.g., no connection to actual tech support. Reviewed the videos – nothing like this appeared. Tried the Roku Community (the question was never previously answered so I posted the question about this menu option MISSING from Home Menu on RokuTv. No one responded. Searched online, the above article closest to nature of menu issues, did a system restart which didn’t cure the problem. Would love to hear a way to deal with this. (And why doesn’t Roku have tech support? Their vids just do not cover everything!)
Did you complete a factory reset? What model Roku do you have? Is it much older? Older models have Channel Store on a different screen, but installing new channels is not supported on those models. You can look here for more info on that. https://support.roku.com/article/360008236574
